A Story of One SLO

Service Level Objectives (SLOs) can be a powerful construct for monitoring a service’s performance and informing when action must be taken to improve the service. Simple SLOs are the most effective but keeping SLOs simple is a challenge that requires iteration and deeper understanding of the service’s customers and architecture.

Learn how the Photos SREs at Google tackled that problem when defining an SLO for one key service, which was serving over a hundred customers like Google Drive and Google Photos all of whom have specific use cases and performance expectations.
