Evolution describes the process by which organisms adapt over time to external change. Some evolutionary forces are purely environmental, while some are adversarial or even symbiotic. Evolution is never just one species but systems of species, co-evolving. Let’s examine the evolution of DevOps, from the fossil records of primordial DevOps, to the different manifestations co-evolving today, for individual and organizational patterns, that might help us understand our future.
