As Director of Engineering, DevOps & Reliability at Givelify, Karen Scheid leads cloud platform engineering, orchestration operations, incident management, centralized observability, and reliability strategy for more than 2 million donors and 80,000+ partner organizations. A recognized leader in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and cloud operations, Karen builds resilient, scalable platforms and fosters engineering cultures rooted in operational excellence, integrity, heart, and continuous improvement.

She currently guides Givelify through large-scale Kubernetes adoption, operational maturity, and reliability-focused transformation designed to strengthen both platform performance and the giving experience. In addition, Karen has advanced the organization’s cloud infrastructure and operations, helping engineering teams scale and improve system resilience and performance. Her work covers infrastructure-as-code (IaC), observability, platform standardization, developer enablement, and the integration of generative AI into reliability workflows. She collaborates with cross-functional teams to strengthen operational readiness and build sustainable engineering practices that foster innovation and long-term stability.

Prior to joining Givelify, Karen focused on infrastructure engineering, operations, and platform reliability, developing deep expertise in cloud-native technologies and large-scale systems management. Throughout her career, she has focused on helping organizations modernize infrastructure, improve operational visibility, and create engineering environments where teams can thrive as scale and complexity increase. Her leadership approach blends technical rigor with a strong emphasis on collaboration and organizational resilience.

Karen is passionate about the human side of engineering leadership, mentoring junior engineers, reducing operational burnout, improving the incident response culture, and building empathy for Givelify’s giving community.

She holds a Bachelor’s in applied mathematics from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
