Guiding Eyes For The Blind

Guiding Eyes for the Blind (GEB) is a non profit that was founded in 1954 by Donald Z. Kauth in a 19th-century farmhouse. Since then, it has graduated over 10,000 guide dog teams. All guide dogs are provided to recipients free of charge.

More than 2,000 volunteers are a vital part of our Guiding Eyes community. They participate in everything from raising, training, and socializing potential guide dogs to supporting our day-to-day operations. Our puppy raising regions stretch from Maine to North Carolina, and west to Colorado, with additional opportunities for remote puppy raisers now available.

The North Carolina Region of GEB holds classes on a weekly basis at a variety of locations in Cary, Raleigh and Durham.
