devopsdays is coming to 大崎ブライトコアホール !

Japan is famous for its engineering excellence, leadership in manufacturing, and high-quality craftsmanship. But as anyone who has worked in Japanese IT can attest, Japan’s software processes are lacking.

While most of the world has gone the way of agile and DevOps, Japan is only beginning this journey. The general entrenchment of System Integrators and rigid workplace cultures will make this especially challenging for Japanese organizations to adopt.

At Tokyo DevOpsDays 2017, we strive to accelerate and help guide this journey by sharing and discussing:

• Why DevOps processes and principles can help Japan
• The unique challenges of implementing DevOps in Japan
• How to start making cultural change in Japanese organizations

While English is becoming the de-facto language of software development, we will strive to have Japanese be the primary language of the conference, with as much English available as possible.

日本でDevOpsがキーワードとして登場したのは数年前にさかのぼりますが、話題になりつつも、今ひとつ言葉としての定義が理解されなかったり、既存のIT文化に対してどう導入すべきか、まだ疑問が多く残されています。

一方では、世界各国でのDevOpsの普及はめざましく、米国の有数のIT企業はDevOps導入による生産性向上、事業の成功が報告され、広くその効果が知られています。

今回のDevOpsDays Tokyoは、2013年に開催されて以来になります。以前と比較してDevOpsの知名度は広がっている、と言えますが、実際に導入、そして成功に導いている企業はまだまだ少ないと言えます。

次の目的を設定したい、と思ってます。

• 技術者として、日本でDevOpsプラクティスを導入する際の独特な課題、とその解決方法
• 企業として、DevOpsを技術としてだけではなく、文化として日本企業に取り入れるための諸策
• DevOps文化、ノウハウがどのように日本の企業のIT戦略を成功に導く事ができるのか
• 経営者としてDevOpsをどのように活用すれば

英語圏で先行して発展しているDevOpsの状況を勘案し、本イベントは日本語、英語の両方で開催し、英語圏の企業や組織にも積極的に参加を募りたいと思ってます。
